MI-4 is a non-stop action thriller which kicks the original James Bond concept up two orders of magnitude. Its rollicking suspense never breaks, but just carries you in a rolling wave of higher movie experience peaks. Simply put, Ethan's original mission is to recover stolen nuclear source codes, which are also pursued by the SPECTRE of the 21st century (with apologies to Ian Fleming). The IMF must not only prevent a nuclear war, but also clear their own disavowed name. The photography and special effects are extraordinary, in creating the anxiety of the moment; the Dubai hotel scene alone is worth the price of admission. The climactic parking garage scene is just as over-the-top, and vaguely reminiscent as the clock ticks of the climactic scene of "Goldfinger". You still have a couple of days to catch this great date movie in IMAX. Treat yourself to an outstanding movie experience.
