...and how often does that happen? It's a great story, but what makes it so fantastic is the manner in which the story is told. I found it very clever and creative.

Clever story. Great use of technology. Definite moments of Forrest Gump inspiration. Yet, I was left wanting. The story has more potential than the film's final product. My POV: Pitt looks fantastic in the role, but doesn't hit all the notes.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
