I never saw a lot of the old "original" Lone Ranger serial stuff from TV so, I went is film with a kind of blank slate on expectations. I have always been a Johnny Depp fan and usually his work speaks for itself. I do not know much about Armie Hammer. Two negatives that I came away with. This is a Disney movie and a film like "The Lone Ranger", you would not figure to be a film with references to a gruesome act like cutting out a man's heart and eating it, or the wholesale slaughter of an entire tribe of Indians. Otherwise the film was packed with action, some good humorous spots but, sadly not a good solid brotherly connection between Tonto and the Lone Ranger. I think many people will go in expecting to see this and it doesn't quite come across as well as you might think. Probably due to the lack of chemistry between Hammer and Depp. However, what they lack is filled in well by the Lone Ranger's horse, Silver who turns out to be a scene stealer. All in all, not bad entertainment.
