Technical aspects and effects were excellent. Three D version has some dizzying fast paced scenes. Story was disappointing. Composed of modifications from previous Trek adventures. Needed a truly fresh adventure not a warmed over one to be a blockbuster. The actors had the characters down and were able to make their roles connect with previous expectations in in several cases extend them - most noticeably Kirk and Spock.
