The film was a bit too stylized at times, but that was part of its "tone poem" intent, I am sure. The acting was superb, but the ambiguity of all the characters wore thin after awhile.
I believe this was a good start for Tom Ford, but no one should be surprised that this film looks much like a series of magazine ads.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
