I do not mind a "reset", however, this Superman reset was very depressing, bleak, and visually dark. Clark Kent wondering from job to job, city to city trying to find himself and never having really explored his super powers is unrealistic.
Apparently, he never pushed himself to find his limits. It seems he never attempted to learn to fly until the bad guys came. What took him 33 years to learn, took the bad guys about 5 minutes to learn, in the scheme of things. The special effects are way over done- too much destruction. Finally, Superman becomes a killer.
The plus ... Amy Adams is refreshing as Lois Lane.
