My sons (9 & 11) wanted to see Ice Age 3D. We have seen all the others and the added 3D effect was interesting but not necessary to the story. Both boys liked the new character, Max, but were bothered that all the familiar characters could speak, but not the dinosaurs that were beneath the icy surface, except for Max.
From the moment we first meet Carl Fredrickson, we like him. He's quiet but deep and we know he has a lot of love inside him. The story is heartwarming and funny with lots of surprises and feats of courage. I went with my sons ages 9 and 11 and they both enjoyed it as much as I did. Nobody touched the popcrn after the movie started!
I took my 9 & 10 year old boys and we all enjoyed it. The references to X-Files and urban myths gave it an adult comedic spin, and the action & comedy of B.O.B. were what the boys talked about the next morning! Definately fun to see on the big screen.
