good tie-ins to previous movies and time lines

Liked the way Kirk dies like Spook did... same set up. Liked the way this KAHN copied just enough of the original Wrath of Kahn plot line. As I said, there were a lot of "insider" sub story lines that a Trekie would appreciate.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors
Cons didn't explain how original kahn was defeated.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
