My Wife and I had really been looking forward to seeing this movie.
So I took her to the Imax 3-d version to let her see it the best way possible.

Sorry to say we were both very disappointed in the movie, but they had some really big shoes to fill.
The CGI parts were bad, really bad and sorry to saw the witch looked more like “the mask” painted green. They did okay at some back story to the original but was surprised to see there were no musical numbers and no over the rainbow.
We both like Mila as an actress but acting was not anyone’s forte in this picture, again bad.
I mean they took on the movie OZ, it’s not like any budget should or would ever be spared on this picture. It’s like some crappy singer taking on a song by Mariah Carrie or Whitney Houston, they tried and didn’t measure up.
You don’t take on a role of this magnitude without really spending and putting forth your best effort.
This should have been made into the movie of the century, like the original one. It sadly was not.
