I love action movies and loved the previous four movies in the series. This movie has all the right elements to make a great story, but the storytelling is terrible. At the end of the movie, I was left without knowing what the bad guy was trying to do or why he was trying to do it!
This movie mindlessly jumps into action without any context or any buildup between Willis and the bad guy. It rolls from one scene to the next without reason. The relationship between him and his son is contrived, shallow, and lame. By comparison, I loved what they did with his daughter in the last movie- you really grew to appreciate their relationship by the end,
I like explosions and violence in my movies, but I need a story to bring it all together and that's what this movie is sorely lacking. Save your money and see something else...
