I am too big of a fan of the true Hobbit to give this a good rating-a simple story has been turned into a gory, goofy mess of a movie. I don't think it was translated for a younger audience as much as a dumbed down one. I enjoyed the scenery and and the few parts that were true to the book or at least could have been if you use your imagination. I honestly don't think I will even see the remaining movies. And to note-I thought he did a great job with the other LOTR movies.

No, I do not recommend this movie.
