The movie I saw showed at 2pm with trailers, and ended at 5pm. It didn't seem like three hours; it felt like we still had more to learn. Which is good and will bring people back. There were just a few scenes that you may wonder "Why are we lingering here so long?", such as meeting all the dwarves scene, and escaping from the goblins. But, I didn't seem to mind because I liked the characters. All of my children have read the book(s). I have not, but was very entertained!

Yes, I recommend this movie.
