I saw the midnight showing of this movie last night and we were given 4 limited edition posters of characters of the movie. VERY COOL! First, you have to go into this movie realizing it is NOT Lord of the Rings. No need to compare. They are different types of movies, but also similar in many ways. The 3D was really amazing. Also, IMAX is a must with all of the action going on in the movie. Simply put, you will not feel as if you are in a 3 hour movie. It takes a little while to get going, but once it does, there is plenty of action to hold you over. Gollum was hysterical in this movie. So many times, people were laughing at his comments and rightfully so. In fact, there were a lot of laughs to go around in this movie. Moreso than any of the Lord of the Rings movies. It fits the movie well though. I was imprssed with the movie overall and the closing of the movie brought a loud applause. The movie was very well done and the scenery was simply amazing. Especially in 3D! Highly recommended!!!

This is the best animated movie since Megamind! I was impressed with the creativity in this movie. The concept is very good. This will appeal to all audiences. Good storyline and great animation. Overall, a great movie for the whole family.

I was excited to see this movie and it did not disappoint. From the opening shot of the first frame, you will understand why you must see this in 3D. The first scene sets the tone for the 3D overall. Very well done. I have seen some complaints about this movie being too much like Castaway. No such thing. Simple minds think simply. Is it similar? Sure, Two different movies though. That would be like saying this is the same as Gilligan's Island because of being stranded. To me, the context of the movie needs to be looked at, instead of comparing it to a completely different movie. With that said, this is more of a search for a young man to find his way in life. He conforms to different types of religion. It is well portrayed because he is simply trying to find his way in life. He wants to be the best person he can be. This journey helps him acheive that. You will really feel the connection between the tiger and Pi. We can all relate because of pets we may have had in our lives. There are some scenes that may disturb some regarding animals, but to remember this is how life works is essential. This movie is really worth seeing. But HIGHLY recommended to see in 3D!

This movie is sel-explanatory if you are familiar with Lincoln, but I am most impressed with the acting. There is not much else I can tell you about this movie. If you are interested in it, you already know the story. The only thing that should have changed was more scenes of the actual war because that would show the significance of this period of time. Still a fantastic movie! If Daniel Day-Lewis does not get best actor, I will be shocked!

This was a pretty good movie. A pilot, addicted to drugs and alcohol, is part of a plane crash that comes with much praise for his efforts landing the plane and saving as many lives as he did, while praise then turns to scrutiny as the alcohol is discovered to be in his system at the time of crash. Denzel is just Denzel. The man is such a great actor. Honestly though, John Goodman stole the show with his limited role. You will laugh out loud more than once when this man enteres the scene. He is hysterical. If you have ever suffered from any addiction, you will certainly appreciate this movie. If you have not, you will have some better appreciation for those who suffer from this disease. There were some parts of the story that I felt could be left out, but I guess they had to fill in some areas. The hearing at the end was the best scene, IMHO. Denzel pulled it off and brought you into his moment with him. Some do not like the ending, I thought it was great. It was different and unique and that makes it more creative to me. I would recommend this movie to anyone.

You will understand the title after seeing this movie. I can honestly say, I am becoming a hug Affleck fan when it comes to directing movies. This guy really is talented. The Town was amazing. This movie falls nothing short of amazing. Even though I knew the ending, I was still pulled in to this movie and its intensity. It grabs you right from the start. I read a review where someone stated that the level of violence was not well depicted in this movie. I beg to differ. Given that it is rated R and having to make it friendly for the big screen, this movie has its violence. There are some disturbing visuals for some to bear. I guess it all depends on your level of tolerence. I thought there was enough visuals to get the point across. John Goodman does a fantastic job in the flick. He is a very good actor and portrayed his character well. The story is very creative and unique. Because of that, this movie stands out on its own. Gives a true retrospect to violence in Iran in the 80's. We can only imagine how much worse it is now. It also makes the Benghazi attacks on September 11th more intense because the same thing happened. I do recommend staying after the credits begin rolling as you will see some pictures from then that were scenes created for the movie. You will say wow at least one time to yourself once you see how well these actors were cast. They have such a likeness to the real individuals, it is scary. Highly recommended!

I wont give too many details as some things are better left being seen at the theater, but I can tell you this is probably THE BEST 007 movie ever. It was so good. I did not even feel like the movie was that long because I was engrossed in the story. That is always a good sign for a long movie. I highly recommend seeing this in IMAX. The explosions seemed real and literally had people jumping in their seats from the rumble and sound. I really cant say enough about this movie. From the acting to the production. Everything was top notch. While not the best movie I have ever seen, It is very nice to see a great movie at the theaters once again with all the stuff Hollywood is putting out now. I definitely recommend this movie,

I have read several reviews of this movie and I can understand where some dislikes are in order. First of all, when people hear the Wachowski SIBLINGS, they immeidtaely think Matrix or V for Vendetta. While those are great movies in their own right, this movie is nowhere near the stature of those two movies. I found the start to be well-paced and evenly distributing scenes from different eras. However, as the movie went along, there could be a scene that would last 15 seconds and then bounce you to another scene. The whole movie does tie together. The message is really good. But the story lacks the punch needed to get the point across. Tom Hanks and Halle Berry do great jobs in their acting. The movie is a bit long for what it is. They could have easily gotten away with 2 hours. The makeup is tremendous and should get a few nods for awards. 4 stories in one and all of them tie together well. Wachowski siblings need to get back to their basics and do Matrix style movies. They just do not have the punch to pull movies like this off. If I am giving an honest opinion...this movie should be passed on.

A while back, I asked my daughter if she wanted to go see this movie. She firmly stated "no". Said it did not look good at all. Well, I am 39 years old and I guess the kid in me still loves animation to this day. Plus, I love movies. I see about 4-5 a week. I simply just could not get into this movie. The storyline was dumb. The acting was ok, but still couldnt save this movie. Sure, there were a couple of LOL moments. But, not many. I actually fell asleep for a moment in this movie. I guess I should stress that my favorite animated movies of all time are The Lion King, Finding Nemo, Megamind and Despicable Me. And not in any particular order. So, I do know what great animated films are. I saw another comment where a lady said this was good humor for the kids...and that is true for most of the movie, but there are a couple of "suggestive" things that are said in the movie. . I dont want to make them sound like they are THAT suggestive, but suggestive enough to make me wonder why it's in a kids movie. Just my opinion.

I went to the theater to see this is 3D. Needless to say, I was the only person there. It's ok though. I am a huge fan of Silent Hill. I have played the video games and that is what had drawn me to this. First, if you must see it in 3D, it will only be worth your while for the few scenes with the ash floating in the air. The rest of it could do without 3D. So, not really worth your money for 3D. The story pretty much went along the lines of the Silent Hill 3 video game. The outfits, monsters, storyline went along the same lines. Even the actors looked the same. I didnt think the first one was all that great, but after a 6 year layoff, I really thought they were going to step it up on this one, I was wrong! This story was not good at all. I was concerned a bit if they were going to follow true to the game because there was a scene in the game where ababy is bornby way of vomiting it up and then the lady eats the baby in a church. Quit distrubing. Thankfully, that is not in the movie. Nonetheless, it was still a terrible movie. I thought the first one was better than this. There are really no scary parts to make you jump or anything. I would have to say pass on this. Unless you are a fan of the video games, like myself. There is no reason for anyone to watch this that has not played the game as they will not understand the story. Plus, the story in the games seem more compelling than the big screen dowes. They need to leave it for the video games....but the end does set it up nicely for a 3rd installment (if they want to). If you must see it, wait for DVD at best.
