Ranking of Bond films is really up to taste, so this is strictly based on my Bond preference. Until Skyfall, From Russia With Love was my personal favourite Bond film. Skyfall has it all and in just the right amounts. You enjoy the one-liner Bond, he's there, if you like a Bond with substance, he's there too, and if you like a Bond who could kick butt, he's definitely there. Judi Dench gives her greatest M performance here. Daniel Craig, what can I say he's given another excellent turn as Bond. The Bond girls were stellar once again. EON has been making some brilliant casting choices with the girls the last three films and finger crossed they keep this up. They were beautiful and intelligent. Javier Bardeem was amazing. He was an absolute joy to watch. Silva was scary. He was barely contained rage in a flamboyant, smiling, powder keg. He could probably unnerve the likes of Scaramanga, and out crazy Dominic Greene any day. Honourable mentions for Ralph Fiennes, he was not what I expected, and the new Q was a welcomed new addition as well. It took EON a couple shaky, experimental steps in the right direction with Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, but Skyfall cements the new Bond officially. If I were to suggest a Bond film for a newbie, it would be Skyfall. It is self contained, with the invigorating promise of adventures to come.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors
Yes, I recommend this movie.
