I didn't know what to expect from this - went to see it because I like music and it had a great cast. A lovely film, emotional, thoughtful, though-provoking and satisfying. It seems at first as though it's going to be a little cliched, and the symbolism is at times less than subtle. The internecine entanglements are a little too pat, also. But the appeal to the emotions, through the music, the emotional predicaments of the characters and the believability of the performances are outstanding. I loved this film and would see it again in an instant.

Cons a bitt too neat, narrow appeal
