A fun summer romp with a great cast of kids! A cross between Stand by Me and The Goonies, a little scarrier and with a sci fi twist. Laughed and jumped and smiled.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

...little animated movie from the 90's called "ferngully" and just expand wildly using today's technology...or am I the only person who has noticed this? Ferngully theft aside, this was a wonderful story, timely and , hopefully, thought provoking, about taking everything we want, or think we need, at any cost. The most beautiful colors and imagery I have ever had the pleasure of seeing on the big screen, greatly enhanced by 3d! Perhaps an old tale retold, but a new visual masterpiece.
Action packed, quick witted and amazing special effects. This movie was a must see for me as my sister ( a stunt woman) plays Ramirez the driver of the hum v in the opening scene; that said I was thinking " another comic book movie...oye! To my delight it was fast paced, thrill filled and a bit moving...add a smattering of sideways commentary on war and our presesnt political mess and it was a definite big screen go see.
