This was MY most anticipated movie of the summer and it exceeded all expectations. The translation from the comics to the big screen was superb. It perfectly captured the grittiness of the Dark Knight era. Every character was complex and each have their own interpetation of justice and good & evil. Batman's relationship with The Joker was spot on. One can't exist without the other. Speaking of The Joker, his screen presence was so engrossing that Batman became a supporting character. I thought Jack Nicholson was the epitome of The Joker but Heath's portrayal is the new standard!
My expectations for this movie were very low and I had no intentions on seeing it. As an adult I found it to be very predictable but there were a few times that I laughed out loud. However, my children REALLY enjoyed it. I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THAT ANY ADULT GO SEE THIS MOVIE WITHOUT A CHILD! My children's laughter made this movie much more enjoyable and maybe that's the point.
