As a Psychologist, I truly enjoyed and was moved by this movie. the story was authentic, subtle and well defined. the acting of MS. Streep and Mr. Jones was restrained and expert, they must be nominated for oscars.
this felt like an Ingmar Bergman film at times, during the real "naked" moments in the therapy sessions. Psychologically, it was written expertly, both patients' defense mechanisms were strong in the first few sessions and gradually they began to let down their armour and what was behind the fear and pain was resignation and resentments accumulated for 30 years, resulting in distance and a robotic marriage.
I went with 3 friends and we ALL loved it. OUTSTANDING!!!
Pros well paced, great story, great actors, authenticity
Yes, I recommend this movie.
