Thankfully I had an idea of what to expect, a friend had read the book adaptation by Eggars and warned it was going to be a dark film about a disturbed child.
I felt really badly for all of the parents (and there were many) with children crying their eyes out. The movie might be better served with a PG13 rating.
I think there are a whole lot of parents who were looking for a nice entertaining movie to enjoy with their kids who are feeling misled.
It was a clever story, with multiple layers...but weeping children all around the theater was pretty distracting and distrubing.
