I am not a Trekkie, But I am a HUGE sci-fi fan. I thought that the movie started off really slow. The first 20 min bored me and my daughter. Then the movie finally got exciting. I was impressed with the way that they tied in the new timeline with the old. The characters were very convincing as young versions of the original Star Trek characters, even though I had a hard time with young Spock I kept wanting to shout out "Look! It's Sylar" from "Heroes". I would definitely suggest this movie to all sci fi fans. It is one of the best stories I have seen on film in a long time.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
