The people in this movie are wealthy. Their concerns are the annoyances of people who have no struggles in the day to day of living. Meryl Streep dithers over plans for an "addition" to her house, an addition that would seem like a house by itself to anyone else. She has to take a stand against his/her sinks -- not an issue most of us get to bother with. To heck with these people and their lazy adulteries!
Lots of laughs in this film about a (fictional?) rush to war in the middle east, supported by phoney British intelligence served out by second level government hacks to second level American hacks... Many characters abusing each other, a preponderance of youthful inexperience overwhelmed by cynical sadists. Characters aplenty, reminiscent of a well-run tv show. Not profound but often very very funny.
