Overall, this movie was full of action, and the story was pretty good. I do wonder why Bones would be messing with a Tribble at a time where there was a lot of other things going on. The Tribble scene seemed to come out of nowhere, and as soon as I saw what Bones was doing, it was obvious someone was going to need that blood at some point in the movie.
There was a time in the movie I was thinking why don't they all simply transport themselves off the ship, or have someone on Earth do it? Also, why not thaw out another of the frozen and use that blood? I suppose that would have been lacking in action even though it would have made more sense.
Still, we enjoyed this movie very much. Benedict Cumberbatch has been a favorite since I first saw him playing Sherlock. Coincidentally, after coming back home from seeing this movie, I was watching an episode of BBC's Agatha Christie's Marple, and there he was, playing a character in that show! Funny. He was great in that role, as well.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I took my kids and one of their friends to see this movie. We all loved it, although we were expecting more action than what was in there, and more interaction with different alien species than what they had, but it was awesome anyway.
I've always loved Will Smith since he was on Fresh Prince, and he never, ever disappoints. Tommy Lee Jones is a favorite, as well, and so I was expecting to be disappointed by Josh Brolin playing Agent K as a younger man. I was NOT. Josh Brolin did a marvelous job as the young Agent K.
Griff was a nice surprise in the movie, too. He was like a little kid filled with wonder at every possible future outcome. I enjoyed watching his character.
The surprise at the end really was a surprise. I am normally very good at guessing what's going to happen in a tv show or movie (my kids think I am psychic or should be a screenwriter), but this was totally out of the blue, so I was happy I could be pleasantly surprised.
All-in-all, we loved the movie, and of course we hope there will be a 4...and 5...and 6!
