Confession, I collected the Avengers comic books as a young adult. However, no matter if you collected comic books or not, this was an outstanding movie. It was grand, epic. It was funny and entertaining. It had a great story and was fairly true to the comic. It felt like a poor man's Star Wars in many ways. And since Star Wars was one of the greatest movies ever, I think that is high praise. I would say this was the greatest comic book movie of all time. The Dark Knight may be the best movie made from a comic book character, but The Avengers was the best movie, by far, when replicating the comic it came from. The special effects were amazing. Captain America during the fight scenes actually did all the stuff he would do in the comics and it looked real. The Hulk and Iron Man were hilarious. I can't recommend this movie enough. You will not be disappointed. Even the slightly slow moving beginning is necessary plot development and is very entertaining.
