I was truly disappointed in this latest installation to the "Diehard" franchise. Having seen all of the movies in the theater (except Diehard 2) I had set the bar pretty high. After seeing Diehard 4 when it was released, I didn't think there was anything the writers could do to top that story. I was right!! The storyline was very weak and the main characters were not developed enough. I never experienced that heartpumping rollercoaster ride I expect to see when John McClain is on the screen. Jack McClain's character was never fully developed and there wasn't any sense of continuity from the other films. I was also disappointed in the quality of the special effects. It seemed as if the team ran out of things to do since we've seen it all before.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

This movie has everything you look for in a summer movie - action, adventure, comedy, and lots of special effects. Make sure you see the credits because there's an added bonus...
