I gave this movie four stars. If the rating allowed half stars my rating would be 4.5 stars. If this is your type of movie, my recommendation is to see this movie at the theatre in IMAX 3D if possible. The effects are blockbuster-esque and the use of the 3-D format is awesome. Avengers is part movie and part theme park ride. Unless you are George Lucas, the home theatre experience will pale in comparison.
Why not five stars you say? Well, some parts of the movie were drawn out. I understand the need to setup the characters, plot, etc. However, some of this setup took away from the roller coaster ride parts of the movie. The movie is a roller coaster ride with a couple of stops along the way. Don't get me wrong, the movie is well worth the price of admission. My kids and I had a great time.
