Having seen the original a long time ago, I did not remember a lot of the details. There was a lot more gore then I remembered in the original and although the story line was pretty much the same, there were 3-4 places where the cringe factor engaged and at least one scene where I literally jumped in my seat. I thought that it was a lot more serious then the original and overall seemed to me like a cross between the Saw movies and Amityville Horror. But I did enjoy it.
Pros well paced
Yes, I recommend this movie.
