Very entertaining movie with top-notch performances by Robert Downey, Jr. and Jude Law.
Admittedly, the main storyline is one that's overdone; but IMO the movie was more about the character stories, relationship and building a solid base for future sequels.
Sherlock Homes is well worth the ticket price and a perfect movie to watch to get you out of the winter blahs.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Simply said: Avatar rocked! The visuals alone are enough to make seeing the movie worth the price of a 3D ticket; and the story--even though done before--was well told. Do yourself a favor and see it in 3D if it's available--you won't regret it! The world Cameron created was so real and beautiful, I found myself thoroughly immersed and left wishing our own world could be so beautiful.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

The critics were too critical

If you're expecting the standard "super hero saves the day" movie in Hancock, you'll be disappointed. This movie is more of a character drama that happens to be centered around a superhero. It may not garner any award nominations, but it was entertaining and not overly predictable. I felt it was worth the cost of my movie ticket.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
