I just saw Prometheus. I've waited with great expectations since last year to see this film, and well now, all I can say is I feel really empty, unfulfilled, sad, disillusioned and unbelievably frustrated! It was like watching gay porn while eating plain rice cakes sprinkled with sugar free sugar (which I seldom ever do) leaving a stale, vacuous taste in my mouth.
What kind of weak, narcissistic, pathetic heroine is Elizabeth? I was shocked and appalled that she had coitus with that man (Charlie)- I thought she was supposed to be a VIRGIN NUN... Seriously! Those two characters had no chemistry what so ever! Did not see that coming (pardon the pun). Though, I did enjoy watching Vickers BBQ her boyfriend, it would've been heroic if Elizabeth jumped in the fire to save him. At least then, she could've met her maker.
David, on the other hand was very interesting and engaging - So sinister and misunderstood - just trying to do his ROBOT job- all the while being verbally abused by stupid humans- poor thing. Loved how he looked like Peter O'toole in Lawrence of Arabia- what's not to love about that?! Or, you could say he resembled Bowie's character (Jack Celliers) in Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence- kind of acted like him too- all defiant and coy.
Vickers rocked- wish there was more dualistic opposition between her and David- that would've been interesting.
Loved the special effects! Just wish the plot wasn't so scattered and splattered everywhere like some ADHD kid trying to write a book report.
Pros great actors
Cons too complex
