A fair adaptation

Follows the book fairly closely only with a somewhat condensed timeline. History leading up to Hunger Games is told in few sentences and assumes that viewers have read the book and know the back-story in most spots. Katniss, Haymitch, President Snow, Flickerman, Trinket and Cinna are well cast. Peeta is only okay, nothing to crow about. Other characters are basically wooden cut-outs, particularly Gale, Mom, Primrose. Characters of the other tributes are not at all developed (with slight exception of Rue) and are little more than human targets. The stylists also have little more than a line or two. Overall, well done but don't expect anything not in the book.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
