I had very high expectations coming into this because I loved the books so much. Katniss, the acting, costumes, scenery were great, but I found that a lot of what I felt were important details were left out and the character development was very rushed (to the point that my husband, who did not read the books, was pretty lost by the end.) Because I read the books it was easy for me to follow, and even though I liked the movie, I was disappointed and felt it was geared towards those who read the series.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
