I was a fan of the original, and love to see the part of it converted into 3D. Although Texas Chainsaw 3D is not particularly scary unlike the original, it is quite a fun dark thriller with a good ending that I did not anticipate. You have to be open-minded enough to accept Leatherface as a likeable good guy to fully appreciate the story.
The actresses are among the hottest in the Chainsaw series. I prefer the girls in their 20s and not 40s. Therefore, this sequel should take place in the 90s. A couple of minor things could have been done better. Heather's grandma should die in 1994 instead of 2012. The cop should use a camcorder to take videos instead of a smart phone that didn't exist in the 90s. I can live with these minor goofs--not really a big deal.
The ending is unexpected and awesome. Be sure to keep wearing the 3D glasses through the rolling credits for the one last 3D scene. Love it.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors, 3d is cool, hot girls, good unexpected ending, a few jump scares
Cons minor goofs
Yes, I recommend this movie.

The Collection is dark thriller ride, like Saw II, Saw IV, or a good Halloween haunted house maze. Camera work has been improved since the Saw series. It is, however, nothing as revolutionary as the original Saw and at times, a little cheesy. Unlike Silent Hill 3D, it is well-paced and has a good story with a satisfying ending.
Pros well paced, like saw ii, like saw iv, suspense, jump scare, all elements of a good horror movie
Cons cheesy at times
Yes, I recommend this movie.

The Silent Hill environment of the first film comes to life in great realism and details with RealD 3D and Sony 4K. Falling ashes fill the entire theater. The main actress looks and acts like the teenage protagonist of the Silent Hill 3 game. The story differs significantly from the game though. It's not a scary horror flick, but a great beautifully-short fast-pace thriller.
Pros seal of metatron, heather in silent hill 3, great thriller
Cons heather has long sleeves, heather has no pendant, no suspense
Yes, I recommend this movie.

This movies should be seen in RealD 3D for an immersive realistic experience. Both the space and underground cave exploration are convincing in terms of quality visual and surround audio effects. The simple story of searching for creator/god is good, and the ending is satisfying and yet opens up for sequels. The best monster is similar to and better than The Thing.
Pros great 3d, great cinema, great aliens/monsters, great audio effects
Cons lack of sex and nudity, lack of combat/fight
Yes, I recommend this movie.

The movie is more like Resident Evil than Saw, except that it's funny. The "Umbrella Corp." in this movie is like an old IBM facility underground equipped with a System 360 mainframe, a rotary phone, etc.--retro yet awesome. The actresses are pretty. Couldn't predict the ending till the end. Saw it on a new Sony 4K screen at San Jose AMC Eastridge 15 theater. The image quality and surround sound are perfect.
Pros nice nipples, nice boobs, funny
Cons zombies, not scary
Yes, I recommend this movie.
