Pleasantly Surprised

I came to this movie with high hopes, but with a belief that I would be disappointed overall. The advertising for this movie lacked in many aspects, and it is only due to my reading the first five books of the series that I had any interest to see this movie. I thought they would butcher Burroughs' epic novels, but I came away quite pleased with what they accomplished. Certainly they took some artistic liscence, and many things were changed, but overall it wasn't bad. I saw it in the IMAX 3D experience, and the movie was epic enough to make it well worth the money. I can't wait for the sequels.
