Remember when things were special?

Remember when things were special? No. Probably not. There was a time, not so long ago, that music and movies weren't at the push of a button. At the turn of the LAST century, a record player was around 300 dollars, and each record was 5. In 1910, that was a huge sum of money.
My point is that people have forgotten the beautiful simplicity of going out to see a movie, listen to music, enjoy art. This movie isn't just a throwback to silent films. It's a subtle reminder of a time when things were special... and it's not for everyone. I think it's almost a bit elitist. If you don't appreciate movies, and the way they're made, it might not be for you.
It's classified as a romance, and while there's some of that in it, it's really a character study in romanticized humanity. Don't look into the plot before you see it. It's thin, and has been told and retold since time.. and that doesn't matter. Find a local, old theatre. One that might be in need of some renovation, or has recently undergone one, and have a seat.
What you'll spend the next 100 minutes doing is remembering what it's like to enjoy being human. You'll smile, you'll laugh.. you may even get a surprise or two, and when you walk back out, you'll be in a better mood than you were in when you walked in.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
