streep is at the top of her game here, which is not an easy task considering the script from which she had to work. poorly written, uninformative, cheaply produced, this film is not a great representation of maggie. it is however, a great role for a truly great actress. someway, somehow, she will be robbed of yet another deserved oscar as there is no performance this year to compare. it is one thing to portray a character, but something else entirely when the actor becomes the person. she is in a class by herself. i give the movie 1 star but meryl gets 5, plus the other 4.
