I never saw the TV show, so I had no pre-conceived ideas about it. I went in hoping to get another Depp and Burton great collaboration and that is exactly what I got. It was very well made and the story-line was easy to follow. The only minor thing that bothered me was the few times the actors were traveling and the scenery was a little blurred. I look forward to purchasing the DVD so I can watch the extras.

Yes, there were some differences from the original book, but I think overall they did a good job with the movie. Katherine turned out as a great Stephanie and the actor for Ranger was just right. I am a little disappointed in the choices for Morrelli and Grandma, but overall I give it an A for effort. It's hard to picture an Italian from Omara and Reynolds was too young and pretty. Now if they can just get the next one put together soon! I will definitely see all they make.
