I have always loved Star Trek, and this movie did not disappoint! It was funny and exciting and filled in a lot of gaps and answers from the original TV version. The actors were superb. It was obvious that Chris Pine had done a character study of William Shatner's Kirk. He had it down pat, as did Karl Urban as Bones. Can't wait for more!
My daughter lived in MN and believe me, she could relate, especially to all the snow scenes. While I am sure that the accents were a little, very little exagerated, they sounded a lot like what I remember hearing when I was up there. People who have an accent, don't think they do and are put out when they hear it exagerated. Like, we Sourtherners don't all sound like Charlize Theron in Devil's Advocate.
Anyway, it was a fun movie even if the plot was predictable and made me nostalgic for the small town atmosphere. I would recommend this movie to others because it was funny and there was almost no bad language in it!
A little slow in the beginning but it sets the background well. Mother needs a swift kick for being so naive and petty toward her ex's concerns for their daughter! The premise behind the movie is a parent's nightmare and Liam Neeson is excellent as a father who should never have been crossed. Great movie from start to finish with an extremely satisfying end.
