Yes, these kids movies are clever. 3D seems to have inspired many of them, not for the effect, but for getting people back to the movies in general. I would never go to this sort of movie myself, but I take my grandkids all the time. So, I have seen a lot of them in the past few years, but this is the first review I've written. Rather than write a review of this movie, I will comment on the entire genre. All such movies are based on essentially the same moral plot. Person is unhappy with their life, they go out of their comfort zone to make a change, they meet other people with similar problems, learn that things are fine, and they find their way home again. Wizard of Oz. I would like to see movies, and especially kids movies, designed to stretch the imagination. More Willy Wonka and less angst. But that's just me. My grandkids seem to like all of them, even the new Three Stooges. Maybe I'm wrong. We never seem to have a chance to discuss the movies in depth; I will have to change that now that they are older.
