Very different from what I expected. I really like the back and forth between the old Tonto talking to the boy and the story itself. My only disappointment was this was supposed to be occurring in Texas and most of the scenery was from Monument Valley in Utah. The credits at the end showed no filming in Texas.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

A really terrific movie. However, I would not give it a PG13 rating. Kids should not see something this graphic. My wife was terribly upset over the war scenes. It is a great story even though they don't seem to give credit to the horses that played Joey. Excellent acting and it really did show the futility of war and man's lack of regard for the horses that were slaughtered during WW1. I will definitely purchase the DVD when it comes out.
