Yawn; is it over, YET? Predictable. Sequel coming. 3D was a waste. This movie could not have been any shorter in 2D. This movie tried to be The Avengers all wrapped up in one character. Avengers was much better. Movie would have been much better if it were about 20 minutes shorter. Just WAY TOO LONG. But the 20 somethings & the Superman geeks probably thought it was, like, the best, like movie, like ever. If you like special effects and CGE, lots and lots of CGE, you will like this movie. The plot was extremely predictable - Superbaby grows up, is internally confused as to what he really wants to be. If you're born to help people, help people. Just help people in shorter movies. Will not waste my money at the theater on the three or four sequels that are bound to follow. Finally, what was with the sudden zoom ins with the camera work? Once was okay; I lost count or interest after that.
Pros it finally ended
Cons every scene was too long
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Very good special effects, 3D fairly effective, with action to spare. Now you know the best part. As far as the movie goes, some things, like the mutants in this series, should simply stay dead. This series has outlived it's entertainment value. Although it's hard to do, the plot in this movie was less than I expected. And there's final (hopefully) episode coming? I understand why the theater I attended had maybe 20 patrons. Word must have gotten out from the opening weekend. If you haven't seen this movie, WAIT UNTIL THE DVD. The best part about this movie was it was only 1-1/2 hours long. Any longer and the FBI would have investigated it for cruel & inhumane punishment.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Entertaining Flick - Forget the 3-D

The good - Kate's back; Lots of action; new character (Selene's daughter); 1-1/2 hours.
The bad - 3-D (this is NO Avatar, save your $$); Wimpy vampires (hide from / negotiate with lycans? Seriously??)
Plot was a bit thin but then again, it is a vampire movie. Much more gore than the earlier sequels. Understandable but nearly over the top. The MOVIE wasn't a total waste of time; On the other hand, the Imax experience WAS. The minor increased entertainment value wasn't worth the extra $$. Loud does not equate to better.
If you love movies that obviously lead to additional sequels, this is your movie. Evidently there are no original thoughts in Moviedom these days.
Then again, Kate's back. She is one smoking hot bloodsucker. All is not lost.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Worst Than The First - A Time Waster

After last year's let down of the first Sherlock Holmes film, my hopes were that the latest effort proved more enjoyable. Alas, as in real life, the sequel was even worse than the initial offering. If you are expecting action without being entertained, here's your movie. Yes, there's lot's of action, & I do like action, but this may as well have been a WWE production. I understand the need for suspense & while proper lighting can create suspense, a lot of this movie was nearly too dark to appreciate the sets. As for the "well thought out" fights, they are WAY over the top. And now I'm expected to believe that Holmes can survive a fall, over 100's of feet, & survive to be totally unharmed? Seriously? I was honestly pleased 1/2 way through the movie when "nature called". I found myself to be constantly checking my watch. The actors played their parts well (Downey being one of my favorites) but the movie was, in 2 words, severely lacking. In addition to it being dark, much of the dialog was delivered in a low & very quickly spoken mumble, making some of the scenes difficult to understand. Quite frankly, I find that my cost of admission was wasted. Unlike the first, I won't be renting the DVD when it comes out to see what I missed the first time. If it weren't for the fact that I had treated my daughter & her husband to the movie, I would have gladly walked out after the first hour. At least my post-movie sandwich equalled my expectations. Do yourself a favor, if you simply MUST see this movie, save your money & wait for the DVD. We can all hope that the Sherlock Holmes movies meet a blessed & deserving end after this second installment.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
