The screenwriters did a good job of keeping the integrity of the story. The addition of the scene of the fight at the Cullen residence between the wolves and the vampires was good addition and added some excitment to an otherwise slow moving story. Because this particular part of the book was quite involved in story line and not in action, this addition added something so that the movie did not turn too lack-luster at the end. It was approaching documentary at this point and needed a kick. Many of the Cullen and Tribe characters have more interesting characters and it is a shame that time constraints do not allow dwelving greater into those characters. While Bella is the heroine of the story, her character does not deviate from middle-of-the-road. This could have been a great movie if allowed to expand into the more interesting characters. I am not sure if Kristen is a one-dimensional actor or if it is just the nature of the Bella character. All in all, a good rendition of this part of the book. I have hopes that part 2 adds much need action to the overall movie.
