Good beginning to the End

Im not a huge Twilight fan myself but I did go see the movie because my wife is really into the saga. This movie was good to great. I have never read any of the books before but was still able to follow without asking too many questions.
I only wish that they would have at least focused on a few of the other characters, such as the house maid on the island. I had to ask my wife what her deal was because I could not figure out why she was so important for the few moments she was in the story. I'm sure that there is a deeper story somewhere in there.
Also, why is this child so important to the Volturi and why is she so feared? These questions wont get answered until part 2; which can be a little frustrationg to a person that did not read the book.
I understand the second half is going to involve the Volturi a great deal more. Their involement in the past movies is where I really started paying attention. I cant wait to see the blood bath that my wife keeps hinting at. Come on... Im a guy ...
All in all I enjoyed the movie.
