I know that a lot of critics are taking shots at BDP1, and I understand why -- trust me, I did not become a 35 year-old Twilight fan of my own volition, I have my wife to thank. I have to disagree with the way this film is being reviewed by the people who get paid money to give opinions. For me, this was the best in the series. I have not read the books, but I am a fan of the movie experience. The first 3 movies seemed to rush the narrative for me. I feel like I never really got to know the characters until this latest film. I like that the movie, for the most part, is slow. If this were reality, the issues that surround the Jacob-Bella-Edward relationship would be complicated. I felt that this addition gave me all the emotional heaviness that I have been missing thus far. This movie seemed grown-up to me. Save for the laughable scene where Jacob and his pack-mates are "conversing" in wolf form and a very abstract (and rushed) presentation of the birth of Bella and Edward's child, the movie was spot on for me. At this point in the game, it might seem cool to trash the films, but, if you're already a fan, you shouldn't care. Sure, it's not a Woody Allen movie, but I am grateful for that. When it all comes down to it, it's really a good film fans of the series will leave with a feeling of excitement for what is to come.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
