Great Effects, Retread Plot

Rocky meets Transformers. Instead of Apollo you have Zeus. Instead of a nearly washed up fighter you have an actually washed up fighter. Instead of Talia Shire you get Evangeline Lilly. All that's missing is Burgess Meredith.
Only the great special effects and fight scenes overcome the cartoon-ish characters and implausible plot points. To really enjoy this, bring a 12-year-old...or be one.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
