I saw this movie as part of a French film festival at BAM. The theater was packed and the audience was completely taken with this film. During the Q & A, one person remarked that the film was refreshing because it was not "heavy" the way so many French films that come to the U.S. are.
The film is set in 1959 and has the look of Doris Day/Rock Hudson romantic comedies--and the look is beautiful, as are the leads. But while looking familiar, the film is fun to watch because the approach is still French. I detected a touch of Jacques Demi in the look and the direction.
Definitely worth seeing.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors, great cinematography
