I think they could have shortened this by 30 or so minutes and tacked on the other movie coming next year for a grand finale instead of dragging it out for commerciality. However, you cannot see the last one without seeing this one. Catch 22.
Loved the clothes, shoes and relationship of the women. I thought Cattral'ls solicitous sex was just that; however all references to menapause are accurate and very funny, if one can laugh at one's self. But oh that location--even though it's Morocco, it was fab. Did I mention the clothes?
Sandra Bullock at her best. New unknown Quinton Aaron fit for the part. Interesting back story on him, too. The movie is uplifting and entertaining. Good for the family, too.
Oh, yeah. Watch the acads. These ladies will be at the top of the list. It's hard to watch this raw depiction, but so worth the effort. Very adult material and language. Once you get past it, you can see the character development. As for the mom, there are no words to describe what it must have taken to put forth that fine acting.
Well, it started out great. Wonderful visuals. But even all my favorite actors can't save this one. I didn't expect sci-fi to this extent. It was hard to piece together what actually was happening. I liked the beginning and didn't really expect the end. I'm just such a fan of Frank Langella I couldn't pass it up. I'd consider waiting for the video unless, like me, you like sitting in a dark theater with popcorn.
What fun. The best part was when Streep was on the screen. She did another excellent job deserving of another Oscar nom. I never once looked at my watch during the 2 hrs. in the theater.
I liked it, maybe not as much as the first one, cuz it was the first. I found the sound to be so loud as to drown out the dialogue at times, causing me to feel as if I might be missing something. The movie got better as it went along and I liked the end. The special effects are a wonderment. I recommend it to all ages.
I have not read the books, but I am an avid movie goer. Something was missing. It may have been in the editing (and the fact the theater was so cold you could hang meat, making it hard to concentrate). But what I saw left me in the dark (no pun). Relationships seemed murky at best. I thought the best character development was Ron Weasley. Lovely seeing him grow up. Generally speaking, I was disappointed.
What could be worse than a tour bus. I have been on 6 tour buses in various countries over a lifetime. This was right on the money. A happy and romantic little film. Nia is in her element but Richard Dryfuss steals the show, at times. It may be a chick flick, but every tourist will see something familiar. Critics shmiticks, go see the movie.
