Considering other horror series which, peak with their first release and fade with each subsequent film, Paranormal Activity is certainly a wonderful exception to that rule, with each film being equally good or better than its' predecessor. Paranormal Activity has delivered yet, another a stellar performance with its' third installation. I would recommend this film to anyone who's a horror buff or simply a fan of the series. With brilliant special effects and unexpected scares delivered with great intensity, it's sure to appease the appetite of any fan who eagerly awaited its' release. The surprise ending added a more interesting dynamic to the story. It also, left me longing to know more. The sudden introduction and abrupt exit of the grandmother left me longing to know more about her and to get a greater sense for her character. I feel her involvement with the story and main characters was distant and slightly disconnected. The purpose of the malevolent entity featured in all three films is still without explanation. The question of how it came to be is made quite clear, but why has yet, to be answered. Despite the nagging questions, I still rated it 4 of 5. Job well done.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

A Refreshing Idea

The abundant laziness and intellectual irresponsibility of certain reviewers is ridiculous. Making assumptions rather than reading about a film's content and genre is sophomoric. I understand how a film's preview can be misleading so, when in doubt, research. Giving poor reviews based on self-inflected disappointment rather than the content of the film does injustice and insults the intelligence of other movie goers seeking honest, fair and intelligent reviews.
I found this film to be refreshing and original. It's clear a lot of thought was put into the plot. It kept me guessing up to the very end. I felt a deep sense of connection with the characters and the story. Despite what some reviewers have stated, the previews have NOT given the plot away. One thing I didn't care for was the last 3 minutes of the film. It was too sentimental and a bit mismatched with the rest of the film. Aside from that, I enjoyed it. I recommend anyone looking for a true suspense/psychological thriller derived from true intellect, to go see this film.
This is the worst movie I've ever paid for. The characters and roles were well portrayed and developed. Unfortunately, that's the extent of my positive feedback. It has all the cliche elements which are supposed to entice the carnal appetite: sex, nudity and violence. However, a warrant for an Oscar nomination requires far more. The purpose of the rape scene, Bosworth parading in generously revealing garments throughout the film and intentionally exposing herself to her would be attackers was lost. The coach's wariness and aggression towards Purcell's character, who was learning disabled, was excessive lacked substantial reason. Bosworth attending a football game mere feet from her attackers on the day of the attack was ridiculous. This was a pseudo-masculine, revenge tale of various, haphazardly implemented elements which were completely irrelevant to the story's development and left me with more questions than answers when it ended abruptly with no sense closure. It's obvious the film's producers relied on sex and violence over a mal-formed story as a selling point. Unfortunately, for them, sex and violence does not a good movie make!
