I mean I am definitely not a big horror fan whatsoever, and I hardly ever watch them, unless they are like classics. However this was not bad I was debating whether to give it 3 or 4 stars, and obviously I gave it 3. I felt like the story was basically cliche, although I am not very keen in the horror genre so I really have no say in that aspect, but it did have it's original aspects in it. Jessica Chastain was good, but I did like her more for ZDT. I did like the way they made the relationships of the girls, and their uncle and his girlfriend, which is Jessica. I was impressed with the directing even though I hadn't heard of him before, and am pretty sure I haven't seen anything of his. The ending was a little weird, but a happy/sad ending type of thing. If you like horror you will enjoy yourself in this movie, there are plenty of jump scares, and some suspenseful build. Decent run time. Enjoy yourself while watching if you are a horror fan. Signing out, me.
Yeah, this movie was great. It is also my first Tarantino flick that I have seen. And as I expected his script, and dialogue were great, and I believe that he should win for Best Original Screenplay at the Oscars this year. The dialogue was great, well-written, and realistic, as I have heard. The story was very intriguing, and considering the running time it was very well paced, and kept you interested the whole time. The acting was amazing from the main five actors listed on the left. Christoph Waltz has a chance at his second Oscar this year. Now, just to make things clear this movie has profanity, and a lot of it that may offend a lot of people. It is also very bloody, violent, and gory. So don't be expecting a light-hearted action/adventure, and don't come out of the theater being overly offended, because now I warned you, and you should now what you are in for. I'm not trying to be over the top, but am just letting people know. (It also has a good shot at winning Best Cinematography and Best Sound Editing) O.K. I'm done now.
Wow I saw this awhile ago and never got a chance to write a review for it. Yeah I really liked this movie, the end was sad and I wish it had ended differently, but that's o.k. JGL is cool as always, Rian Johnson I thought did very well both directing and writing. Very cool idea for an original screenplay. Not that long. Good action, good slow time, interesting protagonists and antagonists, for some reason it switched for me half way through of the characters, but it only makes sense if you watch it. I enjoyed this movie, pretty rough, but good.
Wow, where to start. Great directing by Bigelow although honestly I don't think it was that bad of an Oscar snub, none the less still a great direction on behalf of her. Great acting, Jessica Chastain well deserves her nomination for Best Actress, but I'm sorry I still want Jennifer Lawrence to take home the gold though, I think I might just like her more, but whatever. For some reason Jessica's character kind of annoyed me in some scenes, but I understand why now. Jason Clarke I very much enjoyed his character. Great editing, sound effects, visuals. I'm not sure how well it will do at the Oscars, but it is definitely worth watching with America's history, and all. Very emotional and intense. It is very long, and drains you almost, but watch this oscar nominated film. They do have a few scenes of torture, and very startling and intense scenes, and quite a few f words, but that's about it. I highly recommend this movie. And I don't care if the story wasn't even close to how they got him it was still great.
I loved this movie. It was a little just weird because they were mentally ill. I loved the way the portrayed the different characters, and I loved each one of them. Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence were amazing. Lawrence will get a Best Actress nomination they portrayed their characters so well with dynamic. Robert De Niro was good as always, and I enjoyed Chris Tucker in this movie. This is a movie you can watch over and over again. It's so funny, and the next couple of seconds it can turn to dramatic hurtful aspects. Watch out for this this oscars season. I want this movie. It is R with about 70 f words, but you just have to block them out, and maybe some awkward situations or scenes. But just about every scene of this movie I loved, it just keeps you going for a 2 hour movie. For sure worth it, and it is a great movie.
This was a great movie about Lincoln, but don't be deceived if you are expecting another war drama action flick from Steven Spielberg. It is a very heavy dialogue based movie, and is two and a half hours long. It is a movie that will be recognized at the oscars and honestly might be hard to get through for most people. Anyways Daniel-Day Lewis did great as always, as Lincoln and will be nominated for a Best Actor award and possibly win. I thought Steven Spielberg beautifully shot this movie as well, and this movie is a great flick, but you have to recognize who Lincoln was with the movie, and not everyone will be able to watch the whole thing off the bat, but it was a superb movie.
I was very intrigued with this movie. It isn't your typical action flick it is much more than that. It is kind of like a mystery, and Tom Cruise was awesome, I thought the story was great, and I really loved how he directed this movie. The first scene was intensely good. You for sure should watch this movie, maybe wait for it to come out on DVD if you haven't yet, but this movie had more heart than your typical action movie, if I can say that.
This is not everyone's type of movie especially if you don't like musicals. There's a lot of tunes in it. Anne Hathaway will probably win Best Supporting Actress for this role she was incredible, Hugh Jackman was awesome, and I actually liked Russel Crowe in this movie. Very long, but there is a lot of songs that are really well done and performed that you will enjoy if you are at all a theater person. I really like the story of this movie, the acting was great with all of it's characters. As I've said it is absolutely not everyone's movie, but overall I thought it was a great movie musical. It is very long though.
This was a good movie. If you bring this kids to this movie they should enjoy it and you should too. I was surprised I wasn't sure what to expect, but when I saw it I realized it was different and unique from the rest of the animations out there. Now it won't be a guaranteed classic, and honestly I liked Wreck It Ralph better, but this was still great. The acting was good, the story was clever, the special effects were phenomenal for an animation, and overall it was just a good movie to watch around Christmas.
I saw this at the midnight showing and loved it. Now as you all know there have been very mixed reviews on the first installment of the hobbit trilogy. First off it is not The Lord of the Rings so don't expect watching another one of those. It is way lighter in it's tone and there is just more comedy in it in general. This was fifty years before LOTR, Sauron hasn't got to his full power yet as he does in LOTR, and I think in the next two movies they will show more of how he came back which sounds good. It is a long movie, but if you just are in the mindset of a lighter adventure I think you are going to love An Unexpected Journey. A little slow starting out but I actually enjoyed it. The last half of the movie is epic as any middle earth movie should be, and I'm very glad Peter Jackson is doing the whole series. Martin Freeman was great along with Andy Serkis and all of the acting. A lot of cool things that do tie into LOTR which I enjoyed. Awesome movie and I am pumped for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. Which is going to be even better-I have a feeling.
