Honestly, I was expecting the ham-fisted and not even remotely subtle socialist message but I wasn’t expecting it to be delivered in the cheesiest way possible. The fact that the plot was so very idiotic definitely sabotaged its own agenda. The themes at play and the parallels they were trying to draw is so ridiculous that I’m not sure even they realize how silly they were making their own argument look. Also, there really is no popcorn entertainment value to anything that hits the screen. Probably the worst movie that I've seen this summer.
Cons bad acting, idiotic theme and plot
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Wolverine is smart, well written, well directed, and struck just the right tone for the material. If you’re going to turn a comic book into a movie, The Wolverine is the way to do it: with smarts, style and pizzazz, an ideal cast, and utter belief in your story.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors
Yes, I recommend this movie.

The Dark Knight Rises is flat, insipid, and ultimately self-defeating.

TDKR offers nothing new in any way, shape or form. It’s a convoluted and depressing mess that’s caught in no man’s land. It actually takes itself too seriously yet offers ridiculous action (ridiculous as in dumb, not as in wild or fun) and even more ridiculous characters. It wants to be taken seriously like TDK managed to deliver but functions in bizarre surroundings with a foolish plot. Movies like TDK and most efforts from Marvel work because they develop characters, tell a smart story by grounding the concept and still deliver the action. This movie tries to take a similar approach but it simply can’t stand on its own as a film. Will the fondness for the past two films mask the terrible failure that hits the screen here? Will dull, dumb and chaotic appeal to even the youngest crowds or the biggest Nolan fans? Maybe it does but the rest of us want way more in our summer movies.
Cons slow, poorly written
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Marvel’s Avengers is pure fun, a perfect mix new age dazzle and good old-fashioned charisma. Marvel-ous! It is the best movie that I’ve seen in years. It’s amazing to see it with a rockin’ crowd in a packed cinema! I know many movies claim to have something for everyone but this one manages to pull it off while remaining interesting and compelling all the way through. There are spectacular action scenes as well as heartfelt, intense moments. There is humor and fun but it’s a serious, well made film. It’s everything a movie like this should be and more.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors, perfect humor
Yes, I recommend this movie.

RDJr is THE Best!

This is without a doubt a superior film to the original and simply one of the best movies of the year. I enjoyed everything and every moment. Robert Downey Jr. again proves why he’s one of the cinema’s masters. Moriarty is the perfect villain and watching how these legendary characters match wits is everything I had hoped. The shear adventure, fun and wit are masterfully tempered by a dramatic overtone. The action also held up well and some of those scenes are the most imaginative and most beautifully presented scenes of any film this year. There’s a race through the woods, slo-motion sequence that’s as visually stunning as any art house film ever made. Released during the time of year where often times pretentious films make an Oscar grab, this action/adventure movie vaults right to the top of my best of the year list.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Love This Film!

Despite the great word of mouth and good press, I’m still stunned at how much I enjoyed this effort. I never thought in a million years that a silent movie made in the modern era would make my best of the year list but it did and it’s right at the top. The movie exudes charm as it develops and then grabs the viewer with its story and symbolism. It turns far darker then I expected and maybe runs a bit long but that doesn’t diminish my overall fondness for this picture. Yeah, that’s right, this is one swell picture with a cast of good eggs! The casting director should take a bow because everyone was so perfect in their vintage roles and mannerisms. Everything fits and everything works and I really can’t wait to see this one again.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Just Awful, Depressing and Meaningless

This was a brutal, grim, dumb, discouraging and depressing film with little to no redeeming factors whatsoever. It's poorly written with BAD CGI. If you saw the movie Open Water and hated it (which I did) then you’ll hate this movie (which I do). The only positive thing I can say about this thing is that it does make you appreciate not being stranded in the wilderness being hunted by giant wolves. Other than that, this was one complete and utter waste of two hours of my life.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

I can see why everyone is praising Captain America in some way. Cap manages to deliver a little bit of everything and does it with style and integrity. This extremely talented cast fit each character perfectly, both large and especially the smaller roles. The story itself is told in a masterful, crisp manner. The dialogue is witty and the humor works its way seamlessly in to the natural order of the story. The film certainly is smart but it’s fun first and foremost. Comic book style slugfests are certainly part of the fun but are inserted as a vehicle for the story and not just to see CGI things explode. Things aren’t blown up just for the sake of seeing them go boom. What makes Captain America as good as any Marvel film is the fact that it’s a fine film for kids but it's even greater if you're an intelligent adult. How many movies can pull that off? Like Thor and the Iron Man films, this is movie making of the most entertaining order and it easily deserves all the praise it has generated from both fans and critics alike. It makes anyone long for that Avengers film to be sure.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
