A Serious Man takes us on a journey on one level into the world of Judaism and the arcane rituals of daily life in a heartland suburb. But as in Barton Fink - life and the story is not what it seems. For, this is really story about consequences and a man who doesn't see he is making choices that disconnect him from the lives of the most important people around him. Like "FInk" - we seem to have a sympathetic protagonist in the husband -- but in the end we are left with the sad illumination of his finger prints at the center of the storm he sets in motion. A Serious Man is one of their best stories and very funny as usual. Comedy is pain - so is the truth. And they know how to mine both. Don't miss it!
