Anyone who thinks this movie was about the music, misses the point. No doubt the brilliant score enhances this classic story, but the impact of closeup photography and ernest acting makes this personal journey an experience for the ages that only film can provide. Well done!
Pros well paced, great story, great actors, great photography

Highly entertaining. Good plot. Wahlberg delivers as likeable hero and Alona Tai excellent as girl Friday.

Awful

Flimsy plot, confusing beginning with flashbacks which leave an audience not caring what happens to protagonists. Helen Mirrem's stoic approach creates no empathy for the audience. The 'young' versions love affair is so underplayed that no one knows who to root for.A few moments of tension are quickly erased by ennui, leaving us with an empty feeling akin what you get for having wasted time and money
